Use Insult as a Fuel

What is the best thing to do when someone rubs you the wrong way, a devotee asked recently.

I said you have 2 options - to burn yourself with anger and hatred or use the insult as fuel to burn impurities inside. Say you have a tough time giving up Smoking although you have started chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra. Next time someone rubs you the wrong way, use it as fuel to fire up your determination to give up Smoking. That person insulted me because I cannot stop Smoking. Hell, let me show him I can.

Ages ago, a powerful but immature Brahmana called Shringi cursed Parikshit (who was the emperor of the earth planet that time) to die in 7 days. Parikshit used that as fuel to go deep inside and establish his connection with Krishna. He heard Srimad Bhagavatam for 7 days from Sukadeva Goswami and went back to Krishna!
